M/s Instrulab was established in 1959 by Late Mr. Sundaravinayagam Ex- Indian air force. Having zeal and pioneering thoughts towards aviation field and relentless dedicated effects, in 1962 Instrulab was operating out of Madras Flying and in 1977 the organization Approved by DGCA India as CAT "C" organization. Instrulab was undertaking maintenance support to aviation Industry in India. Within these six decades under his stewardship later his son Mr. S. Suresh Kumar untiring efforts it has grown up and established its name in the Industry and extending it services to various operators all over India and Maldives. In 2008 it was approved as C.A.R 145 Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) under rating"C", by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (D.G.C.A, India).
The main activity of the organization is Bench Check/Repair/Overhaul of instruments pertaining to aircraft Instrument system, CT Check/Overhaul of Nickel Cadmium batteries and various Aircraft Test Equipment’s , tools and testers. The organization is having capability to do above activity pertaining to light aircraft, heavy aircraft and Helicopters namely Cessna 152/172, Piper, P68C, Dornier-228, Boing 737, King Air C-90 & B200 series, Twin Otters, Advance Light Helicopter (HAL-ALH), Airbus Helicopters, Chetak, Bell, Dauphin Helicopters etc.
Instrulab own premises near to Chennai airport well connected by rail and road. The maintenance activities are done under Clean room Class 3 conditions under effective guidance and supervision of well experienced certifying staff who have more than 30 years of aviation experience. The certifying staff were trained by Indian airlines /Indian Air Force/HAL. The facilities are well maintained according to the standards required for aerospace industry. Master equipment's are periodically calibrated to National/International standards . The spare's used in maintenance are imported form OEMs and Maintenance, data is verified periodically for their latest revisions.
